Eliza had a wonderful birthday weekend. Grandma S and Auntie Sunny came up from Milwaukee and stayed with us. On Friday, my grandparents (who had ridden up with my mom and sister) and my Aunt Cathy, Uncle George, and cousin Georgie came over for dinner
and cake
and presents
The next morning (yes, she is wearing the same outfit as the night before), Grammy, Grandpa, Auntie Shannon, Uncle Mike, and cousins Eva and Sully joined us for birthday donuts
and presents (a doll stroller and a bunny family)
and balloon fights
When Grandma S and Auntie Sunny left this morning, the kids were truly at a loss as to what to do with themselves after having so much fun. It was a perfect weekend filled with great family.
As far as our new two-year old...Eliza is a talkative, inquisitive, adventurous little girl who never stops moving. She loves her "Bruds," and after breakfast every morning, sweetly asks, "can we play, Bruds?" She likes to wrestle with her Daddy, but is very, very stingy with giving him kisses, and comes up with pretty elaborate excuses to avoid having to do so. She gets excited about pretty clothes, pigtails, stuffed animals, and most things related to Mickey Mouse (who she calls Nuky Nuky) or Dora (sidenote: I always wondered why parents were so willing to let their kids worship Dora. Now, I realize it's because there is nothing cuter than watching your kid light up when they see a character they love. I still haven't bought her anything Dora-themed other than stickers, but I can see myself letting my guard down the more my little girl gets excited about her big-headed explorer friend).
Eliza wants to do everything herself (Wiza do it!), which is great...and frustrating. She wants to spread her own peanut butter, measure her own oatmeal, buckle herself in, pick anything up that has dropped (and it had better be in the same place it fell), etc, etc. She loves to laugh, which means we spend a lot of time laughing along with her.
She is our sweet little Lizey-Lou and we love her lots.

I missed donut day?! oh man.
